Cattle futures have risen more than 20 per cent since December and are again flirting with $1 a pound, a milestone previously reached during the commodity price rise of 2008.
Beef prices are soaring after cattle failed to fatten up during the harsh US winter and cash-strapped ranchers culled herds to cope with the recession.
Would you substitute beef in your diet for something else, if you couldn't afford beef, with what?
Would you give up something else to afford beef in your diet?
I was born and raised in Nebraska and love my beef!

I had a steak sandwich sans the bread today, price nada, I have a good deal going on with a client/friend, feeds me everyday from his restaurant and I do computer work when he needs it! Enjoy your juicy steaks, I'm looking forward to a 12 0z sirloin this Saturday!
My family owns a grocery store / specialty meat market.....so I luck out when it comes to stocking up on meat!

It's Saturday! Sirloin Saturday that is! 12 oz Sirloin, grilled to perfection, garnished with crispy onion rings, sides, baby russett potatoes, and necessary veggies. Que Bueno!
