Come on man, Obama is a tyrant because the Bush administration passed laws that gave the president power to basically do whatever he wants in a terrorist emergency situation?
And really, what you posted just further proves my point that given a fight between the US military and its citizens, the citizens would have no chance (regardless of assault rifles) against drones, missiles, aircraft carriers and whatever else.

If martial law is imposed more than half of the military and police force would abandon ship to protect their families. The ones doing the dirty work would be the scared/uneducated and younger soldiers and cops who dont have young ones to look after. Following orders. FYI with that being said the Obama admin is also looking into soldiers with PTSD who take their fireams as well. None of the mass murders were conducted by vets. This is being put into place to try to disarm those that could aid the civilians against tyrrany. Ammo shortages, fiscal cliffs and a soon to be default. Adds up. Just look at the uprisings across the globe as of late. All due to financial crisises. Choose youre own destiny if all comes crumbling down. If iy doesnt. Great. If it does. What are you gonna do?

come on man. if it all comes crumbling down then we are all fucked seven ways to sunday. its not like you'll be sitting there with your assault rifle being like "nice, i'm good."
and until the fall of civilization as we know it, you have to admit that the country would be safer if there were less lunatics running around with weapons made to kill lots of people. no?

If it comes crashing down....which is very likely possible ATM, think of looting-rioting, fires and home invasions to support life. People will get desperate and my family will not become a number.

Not everyone has an assault rifle. I dont. I dont even own a BB gun. But Id be the 1st in line to defend our rights instead of watching them get stripped away daily. I have to admit you are entitled to your own opinion and because ours might vary I will always respect you and your freedom to think and speak. Look at the constitution as a whole and look at ALL of the adjustments made over the past few decades. It can hardly stand on its own two feet anymore. Thats not debateable as its well documented. Of the few remaining they have been whittled down to a point of being a hinderance to observe. The American ppl are sick of the slogan "Land of the free and home of the brave" when all the "free" aspects are constantly under modification. Lobbyists pushing for drone use and strikes on American soil? TSA not stopping a single terrorist since 9/11. DHS stockpiling ammo and tanks and assault rifles. Why? We dont know and can only speculate. We now live in a pseudo police state with the constant surveillance, stripping of rights and freedoms, an impending crash and thus depression. The American people are tired of living in a police state and being told "its better this way because of terrorists" or "its better this way because of mass shootings". Again, I dont own a gun but Im seriously considering buying 2 and training my wife on its safe and effective useage.

You have made some interesting points, but you keep saying assault rifle, only the military and the police legally have assault rifles, capable of both semi automatic and full automatic high rates of fire.

Look at these two guns, the first one is the mini14, the all around, ranch hand, farmers gun, created in 1974, for shooting coyote and varmints tryin to kill chickens. The second one is a "clone" of a military gun, but both guns are the exact same caliber .223 and use the same magazines and fire the same way, one pull of the trigger, one shot comes out, what makes the black one, the one that looks like a military gun bad and something that should be banned?












I am not against gun control, but I am against stupidity. Do you know in NJ it takes months to go through the paperwork and backgrounds checks, state police, local pd, NICS, etc to get a gun permit, but in PA all you need is a drivers license.

A law abiding citizen has to wait two-three months to get a gun, a criminal who wants to buy a gun can take a train into PA, find a bum or a crackhead with a valid drivers license, pay him 20 bucks to buy the gun and have it back into jersey in probably less than two hours.

Does everybody understand that?

If a person is on anti depressants or ADD meds would you let him own a gun? Seems to be some correlation.
