I'm in my fourth week of HDROL and was thinking about switching up my routine this week to try this out.. Anyonne using this routine? How do you like it so far/does it work well for you? Would it be a bad idea to switch up my routine in the middle of my cycle?

Im doing it right now on my Bold/11oxo cycle and loving it. Bench has already gone up close to thirty pounds. I did it once before off cycle and my deadlift went up from mid 400's to over 525 after 7 weeks. Great program

dude this program alone packs on the weight for your maxes.

if your already on your fourth week then idk if switching now would be that fun because the 3rd week of the program is when you go balls to the wall and go for PR's and you would be in PCT then.

i have used the 5/3/1 Program for 4 cycles (months) and my lifts have gone from:

    Standing Military
    155 > 185

    Deadlift
    315 > 350x11

    Bench
    275 > 315

    Squat
    275 > 275x9

forsure! make sure you actually buy the E-BOOk and not use some cliffs off of a website to start it. If you do not have money to buy the E-BOOk i will email it to you

Thanks bros as you are right, this is an awesome training program, started Jan 2010 and already hitting new PR's every 3rd week and getting stronger and great physique builder, simple but very effective. Spend 45 mins to 1 hour in the gym unless you go North of Vagh. lol

I wouldn't switch up in the middle of a cycle. I would introduce this either in PCT or off cycle and once on cycle, to adapt, I skipped my deload week and went straight into the next three week run.

In PCT I'm taking and needing my deload week before my 7th run.

    Best to you!

Yeah I don't think I'm going to switch things up in the middle of a cycle. Would love to start this after or maybe during PCT. I've been reading the EBOOK all day.

One thing is, I've NEVER deloaded. Do you think I should maybe take a deload week sometime during my cycle or in PCT?

For de-loading, do you guys just do all the same exercises ( same routine ) except at a certain percent of your usual weight ( like 50% ) ?

I haven't read the book just the cliffs (and I'm probably wrong) but wouldn't this method not be the most beneficial for cycles? I thought the whole idea was slow progress and you keep making progress. Seems great but steroids aren't really for slow progress. Wouldn't it be better to lift as hard as possible while lifting on cycle? I was thinking about doing this in my PCT and keeping it going for a few cycles.

Any logic to this at all?

if you have already done this program for at least 2 "waves/cyles" (months) and you are going to do a PH cycle this program can be perfect for it. just dont de-load on the 4th week like A-train said, and add in your own lifts that you want to get done , after your core sets are done. that way you can pack on the size as well

Super slow internet connection today, de-load is 40,50,60% of your 1 Rep Max on main lifts 3x5 e.g.

40%x5, 50%x5, 60%x5, then on assistance exercises I just do one set. e.g. weighted dips, I did body weight dips, 1x20.

The focus on 5/3/1 are the main lifts, don't get caught up in focusing on assistance exercises.

This program worked great for my cycle as I went all out on the last set of each main lift, left one in the tank, not total failure.

I tore a right thigh muscle on an assistance exercise, supersetting 20 rep front squats with my main lift DL's, this has set me back.

This program is very adaptable but keep the main frame work in place, the main lifts.

    Peace!

I am having trouble deciding if a deloading period would be beneficial for me to take? I have never taken one, I'm in my 4th week of HDROL . Should I take a deload in PCT or after PCT? When would you guys think would be a good time to de-load?

Hey bro, I'm actually taking my deload 2nd week of PCT as I skipped a deload in the cycle and ended up doing my 3rd week in 1st week of PCT, I needed this deload after skipping a deload and off cycle.

    Best to you!
