UPS Shipping Options

PHF Supplements offers four UPS shipping options: SurePost, Ground, 2nd Day Air, and Next Day Air Saver.  The most important thing to recognize about UPS shipping is that shipping days are counted by business days only.  This is a UPS shipping policy so your order will never deliver on Saturday, Sunday, or national holidays and these days are also not counted towards transit times.  For example, if you order 2nd Day Air on Friday before 4:30 EST your package would arrive on Tuesday since Monday and Tuesday are the two business days in transit and Saturday and Sunday are skipped.

SurePost: UPS SurePost is a new option offered to only select UPS corporate account holders.  This is an economy option that combines the best features of both the US Postal Service and UPS.  SurePost enables UPS to do most of the legwork by picking up the packages, carrying it to its destination city then transferring the package to the US Postal Service to make the final delivery.  The advantage in SurePost is your package is automatically insured up to $100 for free, for the portion of the transit that UPS has the package, and your package has UPS tracking to its destination city which is much more accurate than USPS shipping, which is considered a delivery confirmation number not a tracking number.  It is important to note that once your package arrives at USPS it will say, "Package transferred to local post office." This does not mean that you have to pick your package up at the post office but simply means that UPS has transferred the package and USPS will be delivering it to your door soon.

Ground: UPS Ground is another economy shipping option provided by UPS. It is sometimes a single day faster than SurePost but is also more expensive.  UPS charges a surcharge for delivering a Ground package to a residential address which is why the option is more expensive but you can be assured of shipping times by using the following map:

2nd Day Air: This shipping option provides shipping to you within 2 business days anywhere in the United States and does not count Saturday or Sunday.

Next Day Air Saver: This shipping option provides overnight shipping anywhere in the United States excluding Saturday and Sunday and also counts business days only so a package ordered before 4:30 EST on Friday will arrive on Monday and a package ordered Monday will arrive on Tuesday.  This option is cheaper than normal Next Day Air but will sometimes deliver in the afternoon instead of the early morning.

US Postal Service

We ship using three methods with the US Postal Service.  USPS has recently gotten rid of its Saturday delivery option but does typically count weekends as days in transit.  It is important to note that insurance is not part of any USPS package, only UPS provides free insurance on a lost or damaged package.  The tracking numbers provided by USPS are also considered only delivery confirmation numbers and therefore USPS is not required to scan the package until the actual delivery.  Occasionally this means your package will not show as being in transit for the length of delivery, though in most cases it will show its progression to you.  For international packages it is common for the tracking information to stop updating once it leaves the American port by which it is shipped from.  The following methods are used:

Priority Mail: This option takes between 2 and 4 days to deliver but the transit times are not guaranteed by USPS so it may take longer on the west coast.  Refunded shipping by USPS will not take place unless the package takes longer than 7 days to arrive.  As stated earlier no insurance is provided by USPS if the package is lost or damaged.

Priority Mail International: This option typically takes 6-10 days to arrive internationally but is highly dependent on multiple variables.  It is common for it to arrive faster or take longer depending on these variables.  The largest variable is often Customs of the country your package is shipping to. Customs has the right to seize any incoming package at any time and hold it or return it.  We do ship packages discreetly without putting the name of our business on it in order to aid in package delivery but a very small percentage of packages are seized regardless of shipping method or customs forms.

First Class Mail International Package: Transit time for this option varies by country and USPS does not provide an estimated delivery date but you should allow 10-17 days for delivery using this method.
