Damn dude, 3500 up front is a lot. Like, just let me die now a lot. Sorry to hear that. It does sound like the news you received was better than it could have been, ehich is always good. Consider just taking a week and a half off until your results come in. That way your body gets a break (which it probably would welcome anyway), and hopefully you get more good news with the results. At the very least you'll have a chance to relax, recover and hit it again in 10 days.

Alright, so my opinion is to trust your specialist over the ER doc first. ER docs usually have a broad knowledge of many things that will help point in the right direction, but maybe not zero in on the exact cause. Kind of like getting directions from a hillbilly that tells you to turn right at the duck shaped rock, and then left at the old barn versus using a GPS map. You might get there with the hillbilly, but you might not. For example, my shoulder was diagnosed as a sprain by the ER doc and some years later I finally had an MRI done and I had a labral tear and required surgery.

Second, as I'm sure you already know, if it takes being out for 2 months, do it. Better than getting in a week, having issues and taking 10 days off and repeating. I hated being out after shoulder surgery, but it was well worth it after the fact. Just try to stay as active as possible outside of the gym. And for shit's sake man, get better already! You deserve it man.

Also, sucks to hear about the cost man. Don't know what your tax situation is, but it may be tax deductible at the end of the year. Medical shit is way too expensive.
