How long does it traditionally take you to switch into a state of ketosis? I've read mixed reviews between several days to 3 weeks.
Also, how long until you stop being ravenous all the time?
I am on roughly a 500 cal deficit and am almost constantly hungry. A few days in so far and I truly hate not having carbs! Not sure I'll be able to stick with this! Lol

by combining the right carbs on my last meal, doing cardo and using a little insulin.  I can get into ketosis in about 4-6 hours.

As far as the hunger, I do EC and T2 and my hunger stays in check.

slin can't be tested.  you can get humalin r over the counter I am talking about 5 iu dose an hour after a high glycemic snack (candy, jelly beens are my favorite)  You can use glucose tab ( for diabetic) buy them at walmart.  Timing is critical , do it early in the day.  Once you get used to it , it take 20 minutes and you go into ketosis.

Do not try after 6 pm.  this is a moring, early afternoon deal.

They would find the Ephedrine. I'm not sure I really feel like trying slin though, not if I can enter ketosis naturally, albeit a little slower. How do you get slin over the counter? What's the glucose tab for?

I usually go into ketosis overnight. It can take a few days when your body isn't used to it. Taking one vanadyl tab prebed might kick it in. Another trick is a shot of apple cider vinegar prebed.

humilin R is over the counter, just ask for it.  Glusose tab are in the diabetic section at walmart.

How do your guys' refeeds look? Do you eat the same amount of protein drop fats and up carbs to 500 or so, or do you leave fats high as well?
Would you recommend a 24 hour refeed or 36?
Looking at doing this every 5 days or so.

I like short refeeds with lots of fiber.  The refeeds can get out of control fast and you can go one step backwards.  I look at the first meal as a cheat meal, after that clean for 24-36 hours.  Depends on how your body reacts and how much spill over you get.

Keep in mind that I tend to bloat with lots of carbs as they take in all the extra water.  It is hard not to confused the water retention for spill over.

Cool, so a nice pizza for breakfast followed by potatoes the rest of the day lol. I'm sure I'll bloat but I'll start with medium carbs 300 or so and increase as needed over coming weeks.

Well, birthday lunch with guys was two racks of ribs - lots of sugar in that damn BBQ sauce so I hit 100g carbs. Should I make today an unplanned refeed (my first), or just say screw it and eat healthy a few days before hitting a planned refeed?

Good question; I don't have a good answer.  I like to make my refeeds mostly P/C.  When ever I do a refeed with P/C/F I have too much spill over.

My first refeed I eat a lot of simple sugars i.e., ceral, jelly beans, candy (it keeps me sane).  Second meal I go to rice, sweet p, oatmeal........that is the way my body likes it.  I use a lot of ALA and apple cider vingar before all my meals.

Why specifically apple cider before your meals? Is that only before your carb meals?

Yes, I forgot to specify this.  Only before carb meals.

It is suppose to help control your insulin spike..................all I know is that when I take apple cidar vinegar, I tend to lose weight much easier.

I am a little strange, but I like to shoot it straight.  I love the taste.

I don't mind the taste but even in 8oz of water I felt a slight burn in my throat. I'll need to try it again.
