So I am a pure ectomorph. If I didn't start lifting at age 17 like I did (now 25 years old), I would probably be skinny fat with a gut, as I was 130 lbs @ 5'8 at the time.

Now I am around 195 lbs, still at 5'8, probably 14% bf. I have a naturally small frame (small/narrow bone structure). Since I am currently bulking, I find my joints (mainly shoulders) starting to get sore, and the theory is that once you have fully developed, you can continue to grow (gain muscle) however your bones and ligaments will not.

Therefore, if you don't have a big/thick frame, this extra mass can be pretty hard on your joints, bones and ligaments. Does any other ectomorphs have this issue? Is this perhaps why people are taking GH, as it helps strengthen joints and ligaments to allow them to handle the extra mass on a smaller frame?

I like the size I'm at, although I do like staying around 10% bf, but I obviously know it's nearly impossible to grow without putting on atleast some fat, so I will be cutting in the spring (slowly). I'm sure my joints will feel better after losing some unwanted fat, but I also don't want to experience pain at the size I'm at now, because honestly, I'm not that big especially comparison to the pros at my height who weigh in close to 300 lbs in the offseason.

I'm guessing you are not an ectomorph then?

No matter how much gear I'm on, if I don't eat enough, I won't gain. And if I'm eating enough, I make great gains on very little gear.

This is me. You could run low dose osta, ive slowly been bulking so tendons/ligaments have time to adapt.

On top of the stress on joints/ligaments, does anyone also feel the extra weight is an overall stress on the body? Lately, I've been getting sick and rundown so often, and I always notice when I'm lean and lighter, I'm never sick.

Not especially. 220 @ 5'8 and I feel great except when trying to run.
I should note though that I've worked out my entire adult life and only really made significant gains once I started tracking my food, otherwise I am far too inclined to not eat enough and my weight simply stays stagnant.

I am an ectomorph.

Started at 6' 145 lbs skinny fat and weak as hell. Still 6' but up to 190lbs prob just under 15% and still kinda weak but waaay stronger than I was.

Bulking is tough. If I don't (natty) track my calories and hit my intake I naturally eat less and start to shrivel. Yep my joints are sore, have some cissus on the way. Let us know what you find.,

I'm kinda jelly of people with naturally low appetites. I have to take appetite supressants and do intermittent fasting, which I don't mind. On the plus side I guess is I can gain strength on literally 1.5-2k calories.

If I drop under 2k calories/day I swear I can feel my strength dribbling away. And I am not even that strong compared to most people on here!
